Another childhood favourite Christmas LP.....Will Glahe and his Orch. "Christmas Greetings from Germany"

I listen to this one every year, still........... :)   I grew up with a Bavarian Grandmother....these are the Christmas carols I always think of when the season comes......enjoy....and....Gesegnete Weihnachten und ein glückliches neues Jahr!

Alle Jahre Wieder
Liese Rieselt Der Schnee
Es Ist Ein Ros' Entsprunden
Morgen Kommt Der Weihnachtsmann
Herbei, Oh Ihr Glaubigen
Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Am Weihnachtsbaum Die Lichter Brennen
Ihr Kinderlein, Kommet
Von Himmel Hoch
Susse Die Glocken Nie Klingen
O Du Frohliche

  1. Oh and by the way;
Mr. Glahe could also swing! Very peppy and elegant too.
    Maybe you want to listen?

  3. Yep - please be so kind - and there also the very good Kurt Widmann --"Haben sie schonmal im Dunkeln geküßt? aka "Did you ever kissed in the dark?"and James Kok --- and the very very well swinging Alix Combelle --- from Belgium - if you don´t have his stuff -- i can send you some examples of his work - and maybe you need something for a dreamy moment? Then Barnabas von Geczy and his beautiful Tango "Blauer Himmel" aka "blue skies" written by Mr. Rixner
would be not a bad choice!
    As always - take care,
    Dee

  4. There's a fair amount of Alix Combelle on my Django Reinhardt lists, btw..... :) I do have some Kok and Widmann, I also think that I have posted some Kok in the last year, actually....I'll have to check. I think I'm going to have to put another list together of some of this stuff soon.

  5. Yes - you are right - i simply forgot that Mr.Reinhardt used to play with Alix Combelles band.I had my player on "random" - during writing - so i just mentioned it -no offense meant :-)
p.s..i looked at the page:Boarded Up Houses: Flint---
to see that makes me sooo sad - but it´s the same in Buffalo NY - and you found some good "open" words for this Alderman ------ well done!
